Immersive Storytelling

Virtual Reality (VR) films can be powerful tools to create empathy, shift narratives and build meaningful connections with people's stories and the Environment.

 Workshops: VR for change

Is your organization or community interested in stepping into the XR world in a safe, thoughtful and impactful way? I curate and facilitate workshops with communities aiming to use technology to live and imagine healthier and fairer worlds.

Discover, Demystify, and Design: Empowering Youth to Address GBV through VR

Trinidad and Tobago, 2024

Together with Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity we designed and co-facilitated a 3-day workshop on gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and immersive storytelling. Young participants explored the XR tech and exchanged their own experiences on GBV. They also created a 360-film on how a violence-free Trinidad would feel like. My role in this project included: 1) Facilitating an introductory workshop on XR 2) Match-making with VR producers to convene a tech demo with relevant content for the workshop. 3) Facilitated collective 360-storyboarding exercises. This initiative was in collaboration with Heroes Foundation, Dingole VR , Tisha, RumerX, and the AFSEE program.

VR and mental health for people on the move

Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2023

This project's aimed to explore with potential users the relevance and pertinence of immersive therapies for refugee’s wellbeing. As well as to create a space to exchange knowledge, experiences and concerns related to mental health services provided to refugees in different European contexts. The participant were asylum seekers and humanitarian workers in Ireland, UK and Bosnia and Herzegovina. As part of a multidisciplinary team of Atlantic Fellows, we were able to facilitate a joyful space where participants felt free and safe in the digital worlds - a rare sensation in their journeys into the search of better lives for themselves and their families. My role included: 1) Co-ideating with Atlantic Fellows interested on this use of VR. 2) Supporting grant-making, and project development for a multi-country pilot intervention. 3) Developing a partnership for impact distribution in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 4) Introducing VR technology to first-time users, ensuring safety and ethical protocols for their digital and in-person engagements. This workshop was a collaboration with Atlantic Fellows and the InterGreat Daily Integration Center.
